This book consists of letters to Tom Butler - a professor at Harvard University - correspondence with whom the actress Alla Demidova conducted from 1990 to 2007. A chance encounter led to a very interesting communication, and then to the creation of the book.
Letters A. Demidova included a description of trips and tours, theater productions, as well as a story about the people with whom she was brought together by fate. Among them are Sergei Yursky, Yuri Lyubimov, Roman Viktyuk, Antoine Vitez, Theodoros Terzopoulos, Larisa Shepitko, Sergei Parajanov. Letters alternate with extracts from the actress's diaries or small "remarks", where certain events are revealed in more detail, as well as enlarged portraits of contemporaries.
The book reflected with all truthfulness the different layers of time and culture in Russia and abroad.
