Irina Antonova was the legendary director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, where she worked for seventy-five years. A woman whom the whole world knew. Those exhibitions of paintings that she held in the Museum became bright cultural phenomena of Moscow. Presidents, politicians and ambassadors of different countries were friends with her, considering it a great honor for their states to present museum collections in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow. In her book she tells about her childhood, youth, war years, meetings with famous people (among them Marc Chagall, Ilya Ehrenburg, A. Matisse's wife Lydia Delektorskaya) and about her service to great art. The book is organically complemented by photographs reflecting not only the events of the author's life, but also the cultural history of the country over the past sixty years.
