This multi-volume project is dedicated to France's military campaigns from 1792 to 1815, during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. It begins with "The Revolutionary Wars of 1792-1802," published between 1817 and 1821, almost immediately after the conclusion of this epic military campaign. The book was largely written by the French general Beauvais de Préault, but is based on the memoirs and accounts of those directly involved. All battlefield clashes are presented in strict chronological order, making the book unique.

The first volume contains a detailed account of French military operations in 1792-1793. Maps are included.
