In addition to Zamyatin's most famous work - avant-garde for its time novel "We", which became the forerunner of all subsequent dystopias of the XX century, the collection includes the autobiography of the writer, the stories "Islander" and "Trapper of Men", which caustically mock the limited life style, conservatism, snobbery and primness of the British, as well as a dozen fairy tales for adults, which were written in the period from 1917 to 1920. In them, the writer's original language resounds as vividly as in his dystopia "We." The novel "We" in this collection is illustrated with drawings by contemporary artist Vera Dubrovskaya.
