It is no exaggeration to say that Michelangelo Buonarroti (1476-1564) is the greatest artist of all time. His creations were conceived and realized in the throes of creativity and in complete solitude. Attributed to the fine arts, that is, sculpture and painting, his works reached the peaks of formal qualities and spiritual content, which no one else has not conquered. And this is not counting the fact that he was a prolific inventor of architectural forms. Other titans of art, such as Raphael and Caravaggio, equally talented in painting, never practiced sculpture, and even Leonardo, a genius among geniuses, may have been an even more outstanding painter, but the other half of his nature was given to science and philosophy, so he cannot be classified exclusively as a master of art. With Michelangelo the Renaissance reached its apotheosis, and many believe that with his death the epoch ended, where the main role is given to a master who wanted to know reality, dominate it and rule the world as a philosopher and scientist, society as a politician and matter as an artist.
