In the spring of 1874, a group of independent French artists held their own exhibition in Paris. It was an extraordinary, unexpected event, a real rebellion against the foundations of artistic life in France. Called the "First Impressionist Exhibition", it indicated the existence of opposition to official art and open confrontation with it. Innovative painters used soft and unmixed colors, achieving a special effect from optical mixing of colors and a sense of living nature. They managed to develop a new palette and a new technique, trying to capture the play and vibration of light. Everyday, often prosaic subjects of modern life were transformed by the Impressionists into something beautiful, into a "wonderful moment", often fleeting. It took a long time for the public to adapt to the new art - recognition of the talent of these artists, the special charm and beauty of their canvases occurred towards the end of their lives. Impressionism rightfully became a part, the beginning of the artistic revolution in European art of the late 19th century. Brilliant innovators managed to make a grandiose revolution, in fact, a real revolution in European art.
