The Russian avant-garde writer and abstruse poet's collection is based on his 12 papers on Russian literature and avant-garde theory. Among them are: "New Schools in Russian Poetry," "The House on the Shit," "Poetry after the Bath," "Iliazda," "Berlin and Its Hackwork," "Esenin's Salt," "The Poet and Society," etc. The texts are published from the author's manuscripts, much of which has never been reproduced. Appendices include other variants and fragments, unknown articles and notes from the 1920s, reviews in the press, as well as the play "An Attempt with Unsuitable Means" (1940) and a surviving excerpt of Ilyazd's report on French Lettrism (1947).
