Jane Austen was introduced to the world through her novel "Sense and Sensibility." She wrote "Elinor and Marianne" back in 1798, but revised it several times, and it wasn't until 13 years later that the book was published under the title familiar to modern readers.

Two sisters. Two paths to happiness. Elinor believes in reason, Marianne in emotion. Elinor is used to approaching everything wisely, Marianne to acting impulsively. They are different, but both dream, albeit deep down, of true love. Will Elinor's prudence or Marianne's passionate heart prove an obstacle?

In the novel's original title—Sense and Sensibility—Jane Austen contrasts two ways of experiencing the world. Sense is prudence, inner control, the ability to think about others and act with restraint, like Elinor. Sensibility is impressionability, living on emotions, and a tendency toward violent impulses, like Marianne. Austin doesn't present a black-and-white morality, but rather a complex choice between different forms of feeling. She offers a balance: only by uniting reason and sensitivity can one be truly mature and loving.

The book is presented in a classic design by Ultraharmonica.
