Aesop's fables in translations by L. N. Tolstoy

The book includes the fables of Aesop, the legendary ancient Greek slave, translated by Leo Tolstoy. Aesop was famous for his short stories about animals, in which he denounced human vices. And he did it so skillfully that the people easily recognized the prototype of the hero.
Aesop's fables traveled the world and were translated into different languages, and lines from them became winged. Leo Tolstoy made his translation of Aesop's stories - as close to the original as possible, but understandable to the village children who were taught by the writer. Fables do not lose their relevance today, because Aesop raised in them "eternal" themes. And the translation by L.N. Tolstoy makes the edition unique. Drawings by Russian graphic artist, caricaturist and illustrator Mikhail Alexandrovich Skobelev.
