Nikolai Alexeyevich Nekrasov is one of the most interesting and controversial figures in the history of Russian poetry. "A poet passionate about suffering..." - was Dostoevsky's description of him. For many, Nekrasov became a prophet, a comforter, a leader. He was the main poet of the generation of nihilists-sixties, the heirs of Bazarov, he offered a new view of the tasks of the poet and new poetic themes. Nekrasov really came to Russian poetry with a new word, which not all contemporaries could accept and recognize. This edition contains Nekrasov's famous poem "To Whom in Russia It is Good to Live" and his selected poems.
